We are Sid & Tina,
and we moved to this lovely part of Aberdeenshire in the North East of
Scotland from Beckenham in Kent, some years ago. A big difference to
Kent, in all the right ways, we feel lucky to have found this very
special spot.
We have worked hard
for 2 years, completely gutting and renovating our stone “steading”
outbuildings. These have been finished to a very high standard and are
fully furnished and equipped, offering our guests a comfortable “home
away from home”. The upgrading of our site will be continually
ongoing, to offer improved facilities and surroundings to our guests.
The area offers
wonderful open countryside with far reaching views. The peace and
tranquillity on offer here, suits us very well. Our land extends to 55
acres, with most of this being grazing land. However, 18 acres of our
land is natural woodland, which is home to a diverse array of
wildlife. However, it should be said, that spotting any of the
wildlife is not easy. Roe deer, foxes, badgers and rabbits are all
here – but they all know how to keep out of site. Cunning devils!
Birds are plentiful
here. You can often see buzzards hovering in the sky. On rarer
occasions kestrels and sparrow hawks can be seen. The garden birds are
plentiful and include wrens, blue and great tits, chaffinches, thrush,
goldfinches and red/black woodpeckers. There are barn owls here, but
spotting them is almost impossible. In late March the swifts arrive
for the summer, departing in September.
We have never tired of our surrounding, and still eagerly await every
new day, and we hope all of our guests will feel the same.
We live on site and
are here to assist in any way we can, but we do respect your privacy
at all times.
A warm welcome awaits, and we can’t wait for you to visit.
